Privately, Mr Cameron is deeply frustrated by the divisions within his party over the [health] reforms. At a recent meeting at No 10, he is said to have thumped a desk, saying: "We've not shed blood on these proposals not to go through with them."Mr Cameron has to learn (obviously the hard way). He is like a punter betting on a horse that keeps on losing; regardless of experience, because he has lost so much on the poor nag, he continues to invest in it in the foolish belief that it will come right in the end. Perhaps it will, but it seems unlikely; better to cut his losses.
