Holiday attire

Poor old Gordon. His wife buys him a nice new sports jacket and a pair of slacks, but he still gets caned for it in the press.

I'm sure his mother would think that he looked very smart.

And, yes, it's probably the kind of thing I would wear.

I certainly can't be accused of being a fan of Gordon Brown's, but I thought he looked pleasantly 'smart-casual' in his off-duty get-up; I wouldn't be dressed similarly for a walk in the park, but some British men (of whatever age) seem genetically incapable of being truly casual, whilst reamining smart, in the way that many other middle class Europeans are. On the other hand he and his wife looked perfectly comfortable in each other's company and that, when all is said and done, is the only thing that matters. I don't like Brown's politics one little bit, but I do think some of the comment about him in recent days has gone way over the top.

What a contrast with David Cameron. See SNP Tactical Voting for an amusing take on that.
