In return for this fee, Hansen spends a few minutes dictating his thoughts down the telephone to a hapless writer at the paper's Canary Wharf office. Given that the Telegraph last year made dozens of journalists redundant as part of "cost-cutting", you've got to wonder."£2,000 a week for a ghost-written column! And, additionally, one assumes that Mr Hansen is generously rewarded by the BBC for his bons mots anent the beautiful game. I can remember when he played for Partick Thistle...
